Since 2008, the Rwanda Education Assistance Project (REAP) has worked with rural public schools, communities, and local government in the Musha Sector of Rwamagana District to expand educational opportunities and address the social and economic barriers that contribute to cycles of poverty. Our Studio supported this mission through the architectural design of educational and community resources focused on learning, collaboration, and community life. Projects included INEZA Academy, an early childhood education program emphasizing play-based learning and a 20:2 student-to-teacher ratio; the Community Learning Center and Library (CLCL), serving as a hub for education, health, literacy, and community programs; and the SEED Project, supporting entrepreneurship and local economic development. Together, these projects demonstrate the role of community-focused architecture in supporting education, opportunity, and long-term development.
